String of work vehicle break-ins reported in west Toledo | Crime
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo police say in the past two weeks a dozen work vehicles have been broken into in west Toledo.
Police say the suspect or suspects are breaking into commercial vehicles and stealing tools.
In one instance, a suspect was seen fleeing the scene of a robbery in a silver pickup truck.
Police say west Toledo residents, especially those with work trucks, should be vigilant.
“Be on the lookout, because there's somebody casing your neighborhood, looking for trucks like yours, to steal your tools. So, a little bit of prevention on your part might save you a lot of expense in the long run,” said Toledo Police Sergeant Joe Heffernan.
The break-ins happened on:
- Valley Forge Drive
- Lambert Drive
- Oakridge Drive
- Secor Road
- Stannard Drive
- Eastbrook Drive
- Foth Drive
- Winchester Road
- Talmadge Road
- Opportunity Drive
- Monroe Street
All of the thefts happened between December 22 and January 8.
