UT gets state money for University Hall repairs | News
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - The University of Toledo will be getting money from the state of Ohio for repairs to University Hall.
The state will give the school $174,500 for renovations to the building, which was built in 1931.
“University Hall is more than just a classroom building,” said State Representative Michael Ashford. “This is the oldest building on campus, and the place where all classes were once held. It is important that we preserve this building, as it is a significant piece of history for UT.”
Ashford says the building’s windows are 81 years old and leaking in various places. The renovation will replace the roof and windows in order to make the building safer and more energy efficient.
