Whitmer picked to win inaugural TRAC season | Schools

The Whitmer football team is the favorite to win the first ever Three Rivers Athletic Conference Championship.  The Panthers were voted first by the conference’s ten coaches at the TRAC Fall Sports Preview Thursday night.

The Panthers will look to build on an impressive 2010 run, which ended with a 23-13 loss to eventual State Champion Lakewood St. Edward in the State Semi-finals.

“It’s nice that people think highly of us, and I think a lot of that’s based on what we did last year.  But it’s history; we don’t talk a lot about history in August, September, October,” said head coach Joe Palka.  “We’ve got a lot of work to do, it’s a new team, and we have a new identity.  I hope we can live up to those expectations.”
