TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – Snow is starting to fall around northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, and WTOL is always looking for viewer photos to use on-air and online.

This winter, during snow and other severe weather events, we’ll even be using out community sites to show off viewer photos.

Area Office on Aging to open emergency cooling center in West Toledo

Due to high heat and humidity forecasts through the end of the week, the Area Office on Aging will open a cooling center in West Toledo through Friday, July 22.

The cooling center will be located at the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center, 1315 Hillcrest Drive in Toledo. The center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

City of Toledo to begin storm debris collection March 1

The City of Toledo will begin cleaning up storm debris on Tuesday, March 1 in parts of north and central Toledo. Crews will operate in the area bounded by Sylvania, Stickney, Bancroft and North Detroit before moving on to other neighborhoods. The clean up will be a joint effort between the Division of Parks and Forestry and the Division of Streets, Bridges and Harbor.
